Consider the views of people in favor of death penalty and those who oppose it. Have a class discussion defending different views.
Search the Internet for some information about the death penalty in the US and people being executed lately. Try to find out what crimes they had committed. Did you find anyone under the age of 18? Tell the class about your findings.
Read about the different legal methods of death. Discuss them in groups. Which one do you think is the most “human”? Tell why!
Have a look at the map showing “The Death States”. Which methods are used in most states, which ones in only a few?
Write a page from the diary of a convict waiting for his/her execution.
