The Super Party of the Year

 Text 2

In the USA the last Sunday of January is a bigger day for home parties than New Years Eve . This is the date for the “ Super Bowl “, which is the cup final of American football. This is the biggest sports event of the year, and according to eager fans, it is the biggest sports event in the world.

To prove their point they boast that this year’s event will watched by one billion people on television, and the Georgia Dome in Atlanta will be filled to the brim with 72 000 cheering fans.

Supporters of football or not, Americans will congregate in front of the TV and eat 14 500 tons of potato chips and 4 000 tons of popcorn! The amount of soft drink is not mentioned, but will be quite considerable with 130 million Americans watching.

One of the giant breweries is one of the main advertisers because it has figured out the potential of this market for buying their products. If not, the brewery would not pay $ 2.2 millions for a 30 seconds’ advert.  A video chain is another advertiser willing to “fork out” this kind of money to get the attention of such an extraordinary number of spectators. There is no doubt about it, also the prices of the adverts must be the highest in the world!

“ The Americans know how to stage the football games and make them attractive for the supporters. There is much entertainment before the game and during the breaks. Through the loudspeakers you are continuously updated on the play. They create a framework for the game.

The Super Bowl naturally draws the biggest names in the entertainment business. Like mosquitoes drawn towards the light, stars of all kinds perform to outshine each other. Among swarms of famous names, the Super Bowl will assemble the A-team outside as well as on the field.
