The Trip

Task 1       

Make a list of the sights in New York. Can you add anything that tourists would go and see in the city? You may want to use an encyclopedia, Internet or a tour brochure to find extra information.

Task 2       

Explain the difference between “immigrant” and “emigrant”. Write a definition.

Task 3       

Imagine that you have made the trip. Write a diary with key words for your activities for each day.

Task 4       

The Statue of Liberty is made of copper. Try to find out where it came from. (PS. Somewhere in Norway)

Task 5       

Find information about the mid-west (Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Iowa etc.) What are their products? Where did the population come from?
